5 Verses To Remind Us To Be Always Thankful

On Thanksgiving Day we might be thinking more about thanksgiving than we usually do, but that shouldn’t be that way.

We ought to be thankful to God regardless of the time of a year. Every day. In every circumstance. Regardless of what we have and what we don’t, because there’s always something to be thankful for, if you are a child of God.

You can be thankful for this very reason already. He adopted you into his royal family. What a reason to celebrate each day!

One of the reasons why we are not thankful more often than we should is that we don’t know exactly what to be thankful for.

If we are intentional and read God’s Word carefully, we can see WHO God is and WHY we must be thankful every day.

Let’s take a look at 5 VERSES SPECIFICALLY:

I Chronicles 16:34 – “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his mercy endures forever.”

God is GOOD and MERCIFUL. He never changes, and therefore, he treats us with goodness and mercy regardless of what we do. He doesn’t remember our sins and gives us his mercy every new day.

Psalm 75:1 – “We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.”

God’s WONDERS and MIRACLES in your life deserve every-day thanksgiving. If you are God’s child, there must be at least one amazing thing that He has done for you. Think about your Salvation. You have your unique testimony that is something to be thankful for.

I Corinthians 15:57 – “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God has given you VICTORY OVER THE SIN. Jesus has given you a new LIFE and a PURPOSE. He has defeated the enemy so you don’t have to struggle and suffer any longer. Are you thankful for your new life today?

I Thessalonians 5:18 – “…in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

We must be thankful daily because that’s GOD’S WILL for us. If we obey God and follow his will instead of our own passions and desires, we will live a life of abundant blessings.

Psalm 119:62 – “At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments.”

God is JUST AND RIGHTEOUS. His laws and ways are PERFECT. His wisdom is precious and available to us through Jesus. God is the best counselor you can go to. He is the just judge whose will and decisions we can trust.

God is so good to us and that’s already more than enough reason to be thankful for Him each day.

Begin each morning with reflection on these verses. Be thankful for your faith.

Be thankful for the gift of Salvation and relationships with Jesus it makes available to you.

Give thanks to the Lord for His love for you endures forever.
